The rebuilding shellfish fisheries in Golden and Tasman Bays programme is led by NIWA, to date funded by the National Fisheries Centre core funding through the Fisheries Environmental Impacts and Ecosystem Approaches to Fisheries Management project (FIFI1301). We have established a stakeholder group with representatives from the iwi, fishing industry, aquaculture, Tasman District Council and Nelson City, Ministry for Primary Industries, Department of Conservation, recreational fishers, conservation groups and other science organisations.
